Toddlerhood is a rewarding and challenging time for both ourselves and our children. Whilst there is much growth and exciting development at this time there is also a lot to navigate in terms of tricky behaviour and messy learnings. All this change whilst juggling a career and other commitments, relationships etc can make these first few years feel like they are rolling by incredibly quickly. This is why having a support ‘crew’ outside your immediate family is invaluable. Having a parenting educator on the end of the line (a bit of a go-to expert) to offer advice and answer questions can help you to regather and reorganise. Someone like Sharlene Vlahos, Director of Education & Business Development at Karitane, is just the person we think, especially after our recent interview with her and Karitane CEO Grainne O’Loughlin last week.
Shalene and Grainne joined Emma Walsh, Founder of Parents At Work, for our Special Event – Juggling Toddlers & Work: Parenting tips for modern working parents to explore the most pressing issues working parents with toddlers face.
Many personal insights, and practical tips were covered in the 1 hour webinar… so much so we’ll be offering a three part series in November. Some of the topics the ladies covered were:
- Toddler behaviour – you are not alone
- Managing toddlerhood – without losing your hair
- Simple effective tips on helping your toddler to sleep settling, fussy eaters, toilet training and how to handle those award winning tantrums
- Meeting you and your toddler’s needs when back at work
- Extra support available and how to access it
To explore these topics further we will be hosting the course Raising Toddlers: an online series for modern parents juggling work and family. Join us, with the support of Karitane, to help you support your children as a working parent during this transitional time.
The course has limited places so please book ahead if you would like to attend.
